About Nomadic Tribes

We don't tour the island. We walk you into it.

Guided, land-based nature experiences on Havelock Island, Andaman — led by people who know every trail, call and tide.

Our story

A small piece of the island, walked properly.

Most people see Havelock from a scooter, a beach chair or a boat. We wanted to offer something slower — a way to step off the road and actually meet the island.

Nomadic Tribes runs guided experiences across forest, coast and night sky: dawn bird watching, rainforest treks, hidden brooks, low-tide intertidal walks, night walks, owl watching and stargazing. Alongside them, there are hands-on sessions like archery, bush craft and a treasure hunt that suit adults and kids alike.

Every experience is built around one idea: a good guide changes everything. They point out what you'd walk past, explain what you're seeing, and keep the pace human.

How we work

Four promises on every trail.

These aren't slogans on a wall. They decide how we plan, price and run every single outing.

01

Guide-first

Every experience is led by a local naturalist who knows the ground, the wildlife and the stories behind it.

02

Small groups

Fewer people means quieter trails, better wildlife sightings and a guide who has time for your questions.

03

Leave no trace

We take out what we bring in and keep a respectful distance from wildlife, so the island stays wild for the next walker.

04

Open to everyone

From first-timers to seasoned explorers, kids to grown-ups — there's a pace and a session to fit.

On the island

A day with us looks like this.

Forest canopy in the morning, tide pools at low water, a hand-line off the rocks at sunset, and a sky full of stars after dark.

Your guides

People who actually know the island.

Our guides are trained naturalists who've walked these trails for years. They read bird calls, spot what hides in the leaf litter and know when the tide reveals the best pools.

  • Honest advice on effort level, weather and what suits your group
  • Local knowledge you won't find in a guidebook
  • Relaxed, patient and great with first-timers and kids

Good to know

Quick answers before you come.

Straight answers, no fine print. Still unsure? Message us and we'll be honest about what suits you.

Closed shoes you don't mind getting wet or muddy, light quick-dry clothing, a reusable water bottle, and insect repellent for anything after dusk. For water-based activities like the Intertidal Walk or fishing, swimwear under your clothes works well.

Safety comes first. If conditions genuinely aren't safe for an activity, we'll move you to another slot or day at no charge. Light rain rarely stops a forest trek, and we'll always tell you honestly if it's worth rescheduling.

Most of our activities are rated Easy and built for total beginners, including Bird Watching, Stargazing and Bush Craft. A few, like the Forest Trek, involve uneven ground for 60–90 minutes, so they suit reasonably active kids and adults.

A day or two ahead is usually enough, though Stargazing and Night Walk depend on moon phase and weather, so booking earlier gives us more nights to find a clear one.
