Secret Beach Trek in Havelock Island
A trek deep into Havelock's forest, opening onto a secluded, untouched beach.

About the Secret Beach Trek
Starting from the end of Kalapathar village road, this 1.5-hour guided trek takes you deep into Havelock's dense forest. The trail winds through thick greenery before opening up to reveal a very secluded beach — untouched, quiet, and far from the crowds.
It is one of twelve guided, land-based nature activities Nomadic Tribes runs on Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) in the Andaman Islands, led by local naturalists in small groups that leave no trace. We confirm availability and timing with you directly after you request a booking.
Good to know before you book
What should I wear or bring?
Closed shoes you don't mind getting wet or muddy, light quick-dry clothing, a reusable water bottle, and insect repellent for anything after dusk. For water-based activities like the Intertidal Walk or fishing, swimwear under your clothes works well. We'll tell you anything activity-specific — like a torch for Night Walk — when we confirm your booking.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Safety comes first — if conditions genuinely aren't safe for a specific activity (rough seas for the Intertidal Walk, lightning for anything in open forest), we'll move you to another slot or another day at no charge, separate from our usual cancellation window. Light rain rarely stops a forest trek; we'll always tell you honestly if it's worth rescheduling.
Is this suitable for kids, beginners, or people with limited fitness?
Most of our activities are rated Easy and built for total beginners — Bird Watching, Stargazing, and Bush Craft included. A few, like the Forest Trek, involve uneven ground for 60–90 minutes, so they suit reasonably active kids and adults rather than very young children. Each activity card shows its effort level; if you're unsure what fits your group, message us and we'll be straight with you.
Do you arrange pickup from my resort?
For guests staying at Taj Exotica, activities run right on campus, so there's nothing to arrange. Staying elsewhere on Havelock? Tell us your hotel when you enquire and we'll let you know the best way to reach the meeting point — most resorts are a short ride away.
How far in advance should I book?
A day or two ahead is usually enough, though Stargazing and Night Walk depend on moon phase and weather, so booking earlier gives us more nights to find a clear one. If you're arriving soon and haven't booked, reach out anyway — we'll do what we can to fit you in.
Can I do more than one activity in a day?
Yes — plenty of guests pair a morning activity like Bird Watching with something in the evening like Stargazing or a Night Walk. Just mention everything you're interested in when you enquire and we'll put together a schedule that doesn't rush you between them.
